Alice Yang

Violin

Alice Yang holds a bachelor degree in Finance and a master degree in Business Analytics, and is currently pursuing her master degree in Violin Performance at the Australian Institute of Music.

Started violin learning at the age of 5, Alice has over 10 years of experience in orchestral and chamber music performance in China and in Australia. She has acted as the assistant principal at the ANU Chamber Orchestra and Sydney University Student Orchestra, and has played with the North Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the newly established Sydney Concert Orchestra.

Previously working in the fund industry, Alice has found her biggest motivation in classical performance and music teaching, and decided to progress to a career change. She is passionate about chamber music performance, violin teaching and contemporary music production.

Alice believes that the ultimate goals of music teaching are that students are capable of comprehending the beauty and complexity of music, and are able to apply music theories with their own aesthetic approaches to performance practice.
