Peter Wang

Founder | Head of School

Peter Wang is the Head of School and a pianist of the Con Brio School of Music. He began his studies in piano at the age of 11. By the age of 15, he received the ‘Award of Exhibition’ from the Trinity College of London, for ‘outstanding achievement in the Performer’s Certificate’, placing him first in his field in New Zealand.

After completing his Bachelor of Music (Performance) with Distinction in 2006 at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and his Graduate Certificate in Piano Pedagogy with Distinction in 2010, he was later appointed as a Senior Piano Teacher for the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and Piano Examiner for the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB)

Under Peter’s direction, the Con Brio School of Music in now the leading Sydney Music School. Con Brio students have won over 1000 prizes in major eisteddfods, achieved distinctions in exams from the earliest grades to diploma levels as well as many students receiving full music scholarships to prestigious private schools and being accepted to study at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

In 2017, Peter founded Con Brio Examinations in collaboration with some of the most outstanding musicians of our time, from: University chair of units, professors, concert artists, to online music sensations. This highly flexible and motivational exam system has since been positively received worldwide, with students around the world participating in online examinations and with Con Brio exam candidate moving on to win the world’s most prestigious international violin competition, 2018 Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition.

In 2018, Con Brio’s Head Office was established in Shanghai, China. With the purpose of expanding the sector of Music Education, Online Examination and Competition, Music Summer and Winter camps under the branding of Con Brio School of Music, Con Brio Examinations and the newly established and innovative all in one education platform - YOUBRIO.
