Amy Mao

Violin | Theory

Amy is a passionate violin educator with more than a decade of playing experience, starting the violin at age 5 and nurturing a lifelong love for music.

Amy has extensive teaching experience, ranging from beginner levels to diploma education. Many of her students have obtained an ‘A’ score and above in AMEB exams from Grade 1 to 8. Amy’s teaching philosophy is a blend of foundational techniques with patience and encouraging instructions to suit each student’s learning style. Her goal is to create confidence in the students’ ability to play and learn, thus creating interest in the students’ violin journey.
Amy is also an advocate for students to join concerts and perform in public rather than just in lessons and at home. Her education includes not just techniques and a solid foundation but also a life of music outside of the classroom and practice.
