At the age of 12, Lawrence obtained his LmusA for Piano Performance with Distinction, attained from the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB). In the same year, Lawrence also passed the AMEB Musicianship Grade 6 Examination with High Distinction. The following year, at the age of 13, Lawrence was awarded his LmusA for Cello Performance also with distinction.

To satisfy his fascination with the many sounds of brass in an orchestra, he has added the French horn to his repertoire of instruments and completed his Grade 8 AMEB Examination with High Distinction.

Over the years, Lawrence has won many solo and chamber performance awards in multiple Eisteddfods, for Piano, Cello, and French Horn. Notably in the Sydney Eisteddfod, he won the 1st Prize in the 2017 Sydney Eisteddfod Alf & Pearl Pollard Memorial Instrumental Awards. In 2019, Lawrence won the Multiples Section of the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra’s NSW Secondary Schools Concerto Competition.

Lawrence has been invited to perform in many concerts, such as the Symphony For Life Foundation concerts, the Galston Young Performers Gala Concert, and the Sydney University’s Challis Bequest Society. Granted the opportunity to learn from renowned musical educators and performers around the world, Lawrence has enjoyed masterclasses with the likes of Mark Eager, Alexey Sokolov, and Justas Dvarionus.

Lawrence graduated from the King’s School, where he spent 13 years and was on a full Bicentennial Music Scholarship. He has received an Encore nomination by the New South Wales Board of Studies for both his practical performances and composition in the Music 2 and Music Extension HSC subjects. Achieving 50/50, Lawrence also achieved 4th in the state of NSW for Music Extension.
